Personalized Cause® – Raising Awareness Since 2001
Since 2001, Personalized Cause has educated the public, advocated for good health practices, encouraged awareness about cancer and social causes, stood up for animals and animal rights, and raised public awareness of mental health issues.
To raise awareness for these causes, we offer three major awareness products. Each product is available in a personalized and non-personalized version. Our products include personalized awareness pins and non-personalized enamel ribbon pins, cloth fabric ribbons and personalized fabric awareness ribbons, and also silicone wristbands or bracelets in both a personalized and non-personalized style. With these simple yet effective awareness items, our goal is to raise sensitivity to and understanding of medical, mental health and social movements. Causes we all hold dear to our heart deserve attention. Through these products, we offer a vehicle to do that - to advocate.
A Symbol of Support
Our products, a simple yet meaningful symbol of support, have a clear purpose. We know that behind each of our color-designated causes is a person with a story to tell. It is our mission and goal to use these color-coded causes to replace fear with understanding, distance with compassion, and mistrust with love. We want all people to feel seen and heard.
INVISIBLE ILLNESSES AND "SPOONIES"
Awareness is especially important to those struggling with invisible illnesses. Invisible illnesses can be frustrating to communicate and others to understand. It is not always clear to friends and family why people look "fine" yet struggle. To many with invisible illnesses, they feel misunderstood. Our hope is that this site brings more light to this misunderstanding and offers an avenue for conversation and compassion.
The same is true about "spoonies." "Spoonies" are people who live with chronic pain and subscribe to spoon theory. These people often refer to themselves as “spoonies.” The term isn’t limited to any one medical condition. Rather, it’s a way for anyone who lives with chronic pain to explain the way they ration their energy based on their illness. Again, there is a tremendous need for understanding. At Personalized Cause, we work to give a voice to both those who struggle with invisible illnesses and highlight spoon theory.

How to Wear Your Lapel Pin
Our pins are made of hard enamel and have a jewelry-like quality. In addition, each is outlined in gold and comes with a rubber backing. The rubber backing will not damage clothing. The backing keeps the pin securely fastened to your lapel. We suggest you wear your enamel awareness ribbon pin on your left lapel, which is over your heart. This demonstrates the importance and dedication you feel toward a cause or issue. Further, it shows your personal commitment.
Enamel Pins Also Available in a Personalized Version
In addition, this enamel awareness pin comes in a personalized version. The personalized version is the same color and pattern as these non-personalized awareness pins. However, there are some differences in design. First, our personalized pin is slightly larger than the non-personalized pin. Secondly, the personalized enamel pin has a bar across the front for custom engraving. The pin can be engraved with a name, date or message.
Both pin styles represent the same cause. The causes are listed along with the product and in our Awareness Causes, Colors and Meaning Reference Guide. In addition, they can also represent causes that are not listed with the product but are meaningful to you. Click on the pin image or button underneath each pin to learn more about each pin and the causes they represent.

Personalized Enamel Awareness Ribbon Pins
96 ProductsPersonalized enamel awareness ribbon pins let you communicate without saying a word. Our personalized, engraved pins provide a bar across the front of the pin. This bar can be engraved with a name, date or message. These personalized awareness ribbon pins coordinate in color or design with our non-personalized awareness pins. This allows you to use either to represent the cause you hold near and dear to your heart. Each personalized pin is approximately .25″ taller than our non-personalized pin. You can find all the specs, associated causes, and meaning behind this pin by clicking the pin image. You can also click on the image, product name, or button below it.
Wear your message pin to communicate your cause
While wearing a non-personalized pin shows your commitment to your cause, a personalized awareness ribbon pin personalizes your message even more. For example, some choose to support someone going through a cancer diagnosis. Others engrave their lapel pins with a message that shows their interest in a particular social cause. Still others wear a pin in memory of a loved one. We even have paw prints awareness pins to honor or remember a loved pet. Whatever your cause, let Personalized Cause be your source to stand up for what means most to you. The pins are made of enamel and have a jewelry-like quality.
Awareness Causes, Colors and Meaning Reference Guide
Our awareness causes are listed along with each product. In addition, a comprehensive list of all our causes and colors is listed in our Awareness Causes, Colors and Meaning Reference Guide. Should you choose, any color can take on a personal meaning. Further, any color can represent causes that are meaningful to you. Click on the pin image or button underneath each pin to learn more about each pin and the causes they represent.

Silicone Awareness Wristbands
34 ProductsOur KNOW MORE® silicone awareness wristbands are a play on words: KNOW MORE® so that there is no more. This is a reminder of the importance of awareness and the purpose of this site. Silicone awareness bracelets are also known as “gel bracelets,” “silicone bracelets,” “rubber bracelets,” “wristbands,” “squishie bracelets,” “gummy bracelets” and “jelly bracelets.” All refer to a similar type of flexible, often brightly colored wristband made from a soft, rubbery material. They are an inexpensive way to communicate information about your cause to others. And, when looking down at your wrist, they serve as a constant reminder about your commitment to your cause.
Featured in People Magazine
Our KNOW MORE® wristbands were featured in People Magazine at the beginning of the wristband craze. After all these years, they serve as a constant reminder about awareness and the importance of proactive steps to health such as early detection. Many breast cancer organizations use our KNOW MORE® wristband in pink to call awareness to October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is because early detection saves lives.
This not only pertains to breast cancer but to many other illnesses such as colon cancer. Benjamin Franklin famously said that “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Please remember early detection and awareness when you purchase and wear your KNOW MORE® awareness wristband.

Personalized Silicone Awareness Wristbands (Bulk)
34 ProductsPersonalized silicone awareness wristbands are custom-made for your cause. It’s simple. You choose the text, and we deboss and individually bag your wristbands. The wristbands coordinate in color with our awareness pins, personalized awareness pins, fabric ribbons, personalized fabric ribbons, and KNOW MORE® wristbands. This provides you and your organization a diverse product selection. And it helps make the most of your awareness campaign – no matter your budget. For example, you may purchase a few personalized pins with the name of your cause for key players in your organization. Or, to highlight and individual, and spur them on. Simultaneously, you can distribute KNOW MORE® wristbands at a fundraiser in honor of your cause or recipient. And you can provide non-personalized pins for donors to your cause. Whatever your requirements, we help you run a successful awareness campaign.
Please Note: The term deboss means “sunken or recessed.” Made with a laser engraver or mold, the design is recessed (sunken) into the silicone. Debossed personalized silicone awareness wristbands last longer than printed wristbands. This is because the printing does not rub off with repeated use and extended wear.
What is the difference between Emboss and Deboss?
Embossing results in a design that is raised up from the surrounding material. On the other hand, debossing results in a design that is stamped down or recessed into the surrounding material. -
Fabric Awareness Ribbons (Bulk)
37 ProductsFabric awareness ribbons are great to call attention to your cause and inexpensive for large events, such as blood drives. They can also be used to call attention to your cause at school functions or community events.
Our cloth loops are available in a bulk bag of 250 with safety pins included, but not attached. We suggest attaching the pin from underneath the shirt, which hides it from view.
Most of our cloth awareness ribbons are satin. However, a few are grosgrain. The difference between the two types is that satin ribbons have a smooth feel and grosgrain ribbons are made of “ribbed” fabric. Each loop offered for sale on our site specifies the type of fabric used. That way, you’ll know which ribbons you are purchasing.
Pre-Shaped Loops
Our cloth fabric ribbons are pre-formed into the shape of loops and welded at the center. The edges are sealed so they do not fray.
Personalized Cause’s pink ribbons have been included at PGA tournaments pinned to caps in honor of a loved one struggling with breast cancer. They have also been displayed during specific awareness campaigns to call attention to that month’s cause. For cause months, please see our Awareness Calendar.
Budget-Friendly
Our fabric ribbon loops coordinate in color with our other products so that you can choose from items at various price points. This helps you create a budget-friendly awareness campaign. Some of our items, such as these fabric awareness ribbons, are sold in bulk. Others, like our enamel awareness pins, are sold singularly. The enamel ribbon pins can, however, be purchased in bulk and at bulk pricing. Please contact us for more information.
Again, the choice is yours and often based on your awareness campaign budget. For more information about starting an awareness campaign, please see our information located in the footer of this website.

Personalized Fabric Awareness Ribbons (Bulk)
20 ProductsSold in bulk packages of 250 imprinted pre-formed ribbons, our personalized fabric awareness ribbons are great for fundraising events. The cloth ribbons are made of satin fabric and can be imprinted on both tails of the ribbon. The second tail text, designated as “Imprinted Text – Line 2” on the images below, is available at an additional charge of $50.00. The second line of imprinted text gives ample space to communicate your message. We suggest using the imprint color silver or black as they tend to show best on the ribbons. Black imprint is typically used on the lighter ribbons and silver is used on the darker ribbons. Of course, the choice is yours.
Honor or Memorialize a Loved One
Personalized satin awareness ribbons come with attached safety pins to distribute during fundraising, charity walks and races, school functions, and in corporate settings. Our custom awareness ribbons are available in a wide range of colors, and each can be designed, for example, to honor a specific cause or memorialize a loved one. Please note that In some situations, these personalized cloth awareness ribbons are also known as loops.
Wear Over Your Heart
Imprinted, personalized awareness ribbons measure 5/8” (W) x 3.5” (H) x 1/16″ (D). These imprinted ribbons are often worn on the left lapel over your heart. This signifies support, love and concern for your cause.
In addition, personalized fabric ribbons can be used on a variety of items. For example, the ribbons easily attach to jackets, hats, yoga bags, and backpacks. These ribbons are durable, lightweight, and vibrant in color. Please click on the pin images to read more information about each product and the associated color and cause of each personalized fabric ribbon.
Improving Upon the Generic Ribbon - Personalized Cause®
Created in 2001, Personalized Cause was the first and only awareness company to offer individually engraved, personalized enamel awareness ribbon pins. These engraved pins called attention to a multitude of causes in a variety of colors.
From its beginning, Personalized Cause built upon the well-accepted pink and red awareness ribbons that brought attention to breast cancer (pink) and the impact of AIDS (red) by improving upon the generic, mainstream awareness ribbon. For the first time, an engraved enamel awareness ribbon was available. This offered advocates the ability to engrave up to two lines of text onto enamel awareness pins. Further, the pins did not need to be purchased in bulk, allowing one person to communicate one message that had meaning to them. Over twenty years later, these pins are still being used to advocate for heartfelt causes. Our pins, for example, help people advocate for medical and social issues in Washington, DC at our nation's capital. Similarly, they are worn at school board meetings to advocate for children. You can also find them at fundraising walks and runs to raise much-needed funding for medical research.
With our cause ribbons, Personalized Cause has raised awareness and funding for well-known disorders and diseases that affect many, such as breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, to lesser known or rare diseases and disorders that affect very few.
By creating a unique product that gave advocates and others an opportunity to tell their stories, this pin helped educate communities, patients, and caregivers alike. The pins also showed the very personal impact of disease and illness, as well as called attention to other meaningful causes. Over twenty years later, Personalized Cause continues to highlight current events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, human rights, and climate change.
Raising Consciousness
Most importantly, our awareness products raise consciousness about social issues or medical causes, help remember a loved one, and call attention to a myriad of societal issues that need more awareness. An example of this may be child safety in the classroom environment. Further medical examples of advocacy include educating communities about cancer-related causes. This is especially true of cancer causes that are rare in nature. Lastly, we support rare diseases and disorders with our black and white zebra and denim blue jean pins for genetic diseases. Rare diseases and disorders are often a mystery. We know the importance of raising knowledge about them to offer warriors support while they battle these medical challenges.
Both the zebra pin and the blue denim genes ribbon are a perfect universal sign for rare and genetic disease awareness and helps unify a fractured community of thousands of small diseases that have not had a collective voice.
Since the beginning, Personalized Cause has dedicated itself to educating the public and advocating for funding, research and social change. In addition, we encourage improvements in medical care, including early detection of diseases and disorders. We see advocacy as a way for people to be proactive and to simultaneously educate and help others.
Creating a Compassionate Environment
No matter your cause, our mission is the same: to create a compassionate environment for those who need, want, and deserve to be heard. Through our simple, symbolic awareness products such as enamel pins, silicone wristbands and cloth fabric ribbons, we strive to help fight for any cause that hits close to home. A simple gesture, pinning a ribbon to a lapel, started it all. And we are here to continue that movement as a meaningful gesture of support and advocacy.
Let us hear your voice! We encourage you to be creative with our pins, ribbons and wristbands. This is especially true of our personalized ribbon pins that are unique to this site. These individually customizable pins let you tell your story in just a few engraved words!
Send us a photo of the way you wear your cause products, and we’ll feature you in our social media campaigns @personalizedcause
