Personalized Cause's awareness calendar keeps you informed about awareness events that take place both nationally and internationally. In addition, our awareness calendar features observable awareness days, weeks, and months. The awareness calendar is searchable by event or month. Further, it allows you to subscribe to its contents.
Our awareness calendar focuses on medical, cancer, mental health, animal, and social causes. It, too, provides information about each event to help you and others become better educated about a certain topic or cause. Each awareness day, week, and month gives background about the purpose, origin, and sponsors of the event. In addition, we also highlight those who have had a hand in creating and maintaining these awareness events on a national or international basis. For example, the World Health Organization (WHO) or specific charities and foundations may have introduced resolutions that allowed these events to become worldwide events. Note, too, that often there is more than one sponsor of an event. Because of this, many times there may be multiple awareness colors that represent an event, as well.
In addition to the awareness events, each highlighted cause offers an associated awareness color from our site. In most instances, there is one color or color combination that has been selected to represent the day, week or month. However, there may on occasion be several.
Further, the color for an event may vary depending upon if it is a nationally or internationally recognized day, week or month. Feel free to select the awareness color of your choice. You can easily purchase a pin, ribbon or wristband to show your participation and commitment to a cause by using the links on each page that are associated with the awareness event on our awareness calendar. Please take a look each month and participate in events within your community that have meaning to you. Your participation may be in honor of a loved one or family member, friend or co-worker. It may also be to call awareness to a cause you feel needs recognition.
Wearing a pin, ribbon or wristband also demonstrates your passion and commitment to raising awareness. For whatever cause you choose, the most important way to call attention to a social cause, for example, is to talk about it with others. When people see your outward symbol, you become an advocate, messenger or ambassador. Something so subtle or simple as an outward symbol helps others understand your participation and the meaning behind what is important to you. It may also allow for conversation about why this cause personally affects you.
While many are affected by cancer causes, as an example, few take action to educate others. When wearing a symbol, you are able to raise the visibility of the cause in other people's eyes. This has the potential to create a chain reaction, and to help increase funding, research, general knowledge, and compassion.
